“Our intelligence is what makes us human, and AI is an extension of that quality.” — Yann LeCun Professor, New York University

It is undoubtedly becoming one of the most sensational talked about and highly debatable topics of this era and is said to overthrow humanity in the coming years- no pun intended, you may know this culprit by the name of “Artificial Intelligence.”

Well, you see that artificial intelligence which I would frequently refer to as AI throughout can be found almost anywhere in our regular lives, we may not see it but AI is quite frankly what’s running global industries these days. Speaking of our daily life the voice assistants on your phone is AI. The magician who shows you ads on social media based on your recent searches is none other than AI.

The goal of AI is to achieve as much affinity as possible to human behavior or simply put, AI’s goal is to mimic human behavior. Surprisingly, AI didn’t originate a couple of years ago in fact, it was present since the dawn of mankind when humans considered reason before making any decisions. These decisions were based on past experiences or similar experiences that lead to highly probable predictions. Jumping to the present time, the same prediction model is used to recommend us things we like for example, have you ever watched a movie or series on Netflix and been recommended a similar movie of that sort after finishing it? Well folks that’s AI.

Now coming to the contradiction of my topic, I believe that it was human intelligence that paved the way for artificial intelligence in the first place not the other way around as much as you see AI taking over jobs, the introduction of self-driving cars, autonomous drones, advanced surveillance system, many people are starting to believe that AI will somehow take over the whole human race. Unfortunately, it hates for me to break it to them that it’s not happening anytime soon. However, We all agree that AI is progressing and will continue to do so in the future and it may become much smarter than an average human being but remember that you can always “pull the plug.”

There are no great limits to growth because there are no limits to human intelligence, imagination, and wonder. Ronald Reagan

On a serious note, people should start reading and studying more rather than relying on AI systems because this is the only way you can win, either let the enemy become smart or you become smarter yourself.
